Sunderland Prepare for Europa League Trip to Lech Poznan

Sunderland are gearing up for their Europa League league phase clash away at Polish champions Lech Poznan, with coverage focusing on the opposition and injury news ahead of the tie.

SAFC.com has put out its official "Supporters' Guide: Lech Poznan (A)" (SAFC.com), giving fans the practical details ahead of travelling to Poland for the match.

The Sunderland Echo reports that Lech Poznan have been "dealt injury blow" with an international striker ruled out of the clash, which could hand Sunderland an advantage going into the game (Sunderland Echo). The same outlet has also assessed Lech Poznan's current form as Sunderland prepare for what is described as their next test in the Europa League, noting that this fixture comes on matchday three of the competition's league phase (Sunderland Echo).

Meanwhile, the Northern Echo has published its own "lowdown" on Lech Poznan ahead of the game, with this piece produced through the paper's subscriber partnership with its sister title USA Today (Northern Echo).

Across the coverage, there's clear agreement that this is a significant European test for Sunderland, with outlets focusing on different angles - from matchday logistics to the opposition's injury situation and form. The Sunderland Echo's reporting in particular suggests Lech Poznan's position could be weakened by the absence of a key international striker, which may offer Sunderland some encouragement as they look to pick up points on the road in Europe.
